Cape Town, February 1, 2021 – O&L Nexentury has announced the appointment of Chris Forlee, as General Manager & Head of Business Development. Mr. Forlee joins O&L Nexentury from the National Energy Regulator of South Africa (NERSA), where he has served as Chief Executive Officer since 2017. Inclusive of his 10-year tenure at NERSA, Chris Forlee has over 30 years of utility, government and private sector energy experience.
Mr. Forlee will be responsible for leading and arranging new renewable energy business development in South Africa, Namibia and throughout the Southern African Development Community (SADC).
With a heavy focus on mining, commercial and heavy industrial sectors, as well as municipalities, O&L Nexentury’s power purchase agreement (PPA) clientele will have, at their disposal, the deep experience, expertise and relationships, that Mr. Forlee brings to O&L Nexentury as it structures, plans and permits independent power producers (IPP).
Beyond O&L Nexentury’s core business of developing and operating IPPs, Mr. Forlee sees significant opportunities to provide interim regulatory process and permitting consulting services to future PPA clientele.
